Fabrics & Light Control

Light Filtering
Softens daylight while maintaining a bright room.
Dim Out
Reduces brightness and glare while still allowing some light through.
Blackout Fabric
Blackout fabric significantly reduces light passing through the material, but a standard Vertical blind does not create total blackout because light can enter between louvres and around the blind.
Easy-Care & Wipe-Clean
Selected practical fabrics are suitable for areas where moisture and everyday marks are a consideration.
Patterns & Textures
A choice of plain, textured and patterned fabrics is available to suit different interiors.
How Your Vertical Blind Operates
Wand Operated
A wand controls both the tilt and draw of the louvres. With no hanging operating cords or chains, this is a useful Safe by Design option where suitable.
Cord & Chain Operated
Depending on the selected system, the cord draws the louvres and the chain controls their angle. Where this type of operation is used, the required child-safety restraint forms part of the installation.
Motorised
Motorised Vertical options may be available on selected systems. Exact operation, control capability and compatibility depend on the chosen headrail and motor system and are confirmed during the home visit.
Draw & Bunching Options
Left Bunch
Louvres stack to the left when opened.
Right Bunch
Louvres stack to the right when opened.
Split Bunch
Louvres divide and stack to both sides.
Centre Bunch
Available on selected systems where the louvres are required to stack centrally.
Headrail & Finishing Options
A streamlined aluminium headrail is available in white as standard, with selected anthracite systems for a more contemporary finish.
Control and headrail configurations vary depending on the chosen specification, which we confirm during the home visit.
Sloping, Shaped & Difficult Windows
Vertical blinds can provide a practical solution for selected sloping or shaped windows. Suitability, draw arrangement and operating method depend on the window geometry and selected system, which we confirm during the home visit.
Child Safety — Part of Every Blind Installation
Safe by Design
Wand-operated Vertical blinds where suitable, with no hanging operating loops.
Built-In Safety Systems
Appropriate integral or breakaway systems where applicable.
Separate Safety Devices
Required restraints or other safety devices for cord-and-chain systems where applicable.
We will not leave a blind installed without the required child-safety device.

Frequently Asked Questions
Are Vertical blinds good for patio doors?
Yes — Vertical blinds are particularly well suited to patio doors. The louvres draw smoothly across the full width of the door and can be split from the centre, allowing access to one side while the other remains closed.
How do Vertical blinds control light and privacy?
Rotate the louvres to any angle — fully open for maximum light and view, fully closed for greater privacy, or anywhere in between.
Can Vertical blinds be fitted in kitchens and bathrooms?
Yes, with the right fabric. Selected wipe-clean and PVC fabrics are designed for environments where moisture and everyday marks are a consideration.
Can individual Vertical louvres be replaced?
Yes — individual louvres can usually be replaced if damaged, without replacing the entire blind.
Can Vertical blinds be fitted to sloping or shaped windows?
Vertical blinds can provide a practical solution for selected sloping or shaped windows. Suitability, draw arrangement and operating method depend on the window geometry and selected system, which we confirm during the home visit.
How long do Vertical blinds take?
Typically 3–5 weeks, subject to selected fabric, system and availability.
