Made-to-measure Faux Wood shutters combine a durable solid-profile construction with a painted shutter finish, making them particularly suited to busy rooms and moisture-prone areas. Available in a choice of louvre sizes and configurations, with professional measuring and fitting across Milton Keynes, Bedford and Luton.
Faux Wood shutters use a durable solid-profile HSPVC (high-specification PVC) construction, finished with a professionally applied paint finish that gives the appearance of a traditional painted shutter. Their moisture-resistant properties make them particularly well suited to bathrooms, kitchens and other busy or moisture-prone rooms, while remaining a practical choice throughout the home.

Why Choose Faux Wood?
Faux Wood shutters combine a durable, engineered construction with a set of practical advantages that suit many rooms and budgets.
Waterproof Faux Wood Material
The Faux Wood material is waterproof, making these shutters particularly suitable for kitchens, bathrooms and other moisture-prone rooms.
Solid-Profile Construction
Faux Wood shutters use a dense, solid-profile HSPVC construction that gives every panel a substantial, quality feel and consistent performance from panel to panel.
An Alternative to Natural Timber
Faux Wood can offer a different price point from natural timber, depending on the window size, finish and configuration. Your surveyor will confirm pricing during your free home visit.
Easy to Care For
The smooth, non-porous surface of Faux Wood shutters wipes clean easily with a damp cloth, making them straightforward to keep looking clean and fresh.
Flame-Retardant Material
Our Faux Wood ranges comply with applicable UK flame-retardant standards.
A Range of Painted Finishes
Colour availability varies by Faux Wood range, with a wider palette available on selected options — giving your shutters a smooth, professionally finished appearance.
Configurations
Available Styles
Our Faux Wood shutters are available across the core configurations below. Selected Faux Wood ranges can accommodate additional configurations, subject to the window geometry and survey.

Full Height
Panels span the full height of your window for a clean, elegant look. Available with or without a mid-rail for independent upper and lower louvre control.

Café Style
Fitted to the lower half of the window only. An elegant choice for rooms where you want privacy at street level while keeping the upper window open and bright.

Tier on Tier
Two independently operated sets of panels — upper and lower — giving you full control over light and privacy at any time of day.

Bay Window
Faux Wood shutters can be configured to follow any bay angle, making them a practical choice for bay windows.
Louvre sizes
Louvre Size Options
The louvre size you choose affects the character of your shutter, the quality of light in your room and the overall aesthetic. Our Faux Wood shutters are available in three louvre sizes.
63mm louvres
The most traditional louvre size, giving a classic shutter look with close, refined louvre spacing. Ideal for smaller windows and rooms where privacy is the priority.
76mm louvres
The most popular choice. Strikes the perfect balance between the traditional shutter aesthetic and generous light control. Works beautifully across most window sizes.
89mm louvres
The widest louvre, letting in the most light and creating the most open, airy feel. Ideal for larger windows and open-plan spaces.
How it works
Split Tilt and Mid Rails — What's the Difference?
As well as choosing how the louvres tilt, you can choose how the panel is controlled. It helps to see the difference rather than just read about it.

Standard Louvre Control
Louvres within the control group move together.

Mid Rail
A physical horizontal rail separates sections of the shutter panel.

Split Tilt
Separate upper and lower groups of louvres can be tilted independently within the same panel.
Tier on Tier is different again: it uses separate upper and lower shutter panels that can also be opened independently.
Colours and Finishes
Colour availability varies by Faux Wood range, with a wider palette available on selected options.
Painted Colours
Our surveyor brings a full sample collection to your free home visit so you can see every colour option in your own light.
Custom Colour Matching
Custom colour matching is available on selected finishes. Options and any applicable surcharge will be confirmed during your home consultation.
Operation
How Your Louvres Are Operated
Faux Wood shutters offer several ways to tilt the louvres for light and privacy control, from a visible centre rod to a fully concealed mechanism.
Centre Tilt Rod
A visible tilt rod positioned at the centre of the panel, used to adjust the louvres for light and privacy.
Offset Tilt Rod
Available on selected Faux Wood ranges. The tilt rod is positioned towards one side of the panel, creating a cleaner appearance from some viewing angles.
Clearview (Hidden Tilt)
A rear-mounted metal control links the louvres while leaving the front of the panel visually uncluttered.
Rack & Pinion (Hidden Tilt)
A concealed mechanism built into the shutter stile, allowing the louvres to move without a visible front tilt rod.
Faux Wood vs. Wooden — How Do They Compare?
Material — Wooden shutters are crafted from natural Paulownia hardwood. Faux Wood shutters use an engineered HSPVC construction.
Moisture suitability — Faux Wood is particularly suitable for moisture-prone rooms such as bathrooms and kitchens.
Finish — Wooden shutters offer natural wood stains and painted colours with the grain and character of real timber. Faux Wood is primarily a painted finish.
Configuration flexibility — Wooden shutters generally offer broader specialist-shape and configuration flexibility. Selected Faux Wood ranges can support additional configurations, subject to survey.
Warranty — Wooden shutters carry a 3-year manufacturer's warranty. Faux Wood shutters carry up to a 10-year manufacturer's warranty, depending on the range and finish.
Price — Pricing varies by size, finish and configuration and will be confirmed during your home consultation.
