Metal Venetian blinds are no longer a 25mm-only product. Available slat sizes vary by collection and may include 15/16mm, 25mm, 35mm and 50mm — not every supplier or system offers every size, and 25mm is especially relevant to selected Perfect Fit® and FITtoFRAME systems.
Depending on the collection and slat size chosen, finishes may include matt, gloss, metallic, pearlised or soft-sheen effects, textured or structured finishes, striped or patterned effects, wood-inspired prints and perforated finishes. Not every finish is available in every slat size or fitted system.
Your surveyor will bring a full sample range to your free home visit so you can see and feel the actual colours and finishes against your own window before choosing.
Choose the Right Fitting System
Metal Venetian blinds are available in three different fitted solutions, each suited to different windows and requirements. Your surveyor will confirm which systems are suitable for your windows during your free home visit.
Standard Metal Venetian
A conventional, free-hanging aluminium Venetian blind fitted inside or outside the window recess using brackets. The most flexible option, with the widest choice of slat sizes and finishes.
Perfect Fit® Venetian
Selected 25mm aluminium systems fitted within a surrounding Perfect Fit® frame that clips into suitable window or door beading — no drilling. Moves with the opening panel; well suited to selected opening windows, glazed doors and conservatory side glazing.
FITtoFRAME Venetian
Selected 25mm aluminium systems with a slim, integrated profile fixed by beading brackets or approved adhesive fixing depending on the window. A drill-free, tensioned bottom-up system with a fixed headrail — a different fitted solution from Perfect Fit®.
Perfect Fit® Venetian Blinds
Perfect Fit® Venetian uses a surrounding Perfect Fit® frame that clips directly into the beading of a suitable uPVC window or door — no drilling into the frame or wall. Because the frame is fixed to the window or door itself, the blind moves with it when opened, which makes it especially useful for selected opening windows, glazed doors and conservatory side glazing.
Selected 25mm aluminium slat systems are available within Perfect Fit®, with a minimum bead depth of 22mm and a maximum size of 1300mm width by 2000mm drop. Operation is manual — a handle in the bottom bar raises and lowers the blind, and a clear wand controls the slat tilt.
Exact suitability depends on your window or door's bead, frame, handles, hinges and clearances, and is confirmed by your surveyor during your free home visit.
FITtoFRAME Venetian Blinds
FITtoFRAME is a different fitted solution from Perfect Fit® — rather than a surrounding frame that clips into the window beading, selected 25mm aluminium FITtoFRAME systems use a slim, integrated profile built around a patented interlocking construction, fixed to the window using supported beading brackets or approved adhesive fixing depending on the window and system.
The blind operates as a tensioned bottom-up system with a fixed headrail, giving a close, integrated fit against the glazing. FITtoFRAME is especially relevant to bifold doors and tilt-and-turn windows, and current profile colours include White, Grey, Anthracite, Nobel and Black, subject to the supplier range in place at the time of order.
"Drill-free" describes the fixing method rather than the absence of any visible profile or side component — FITtoFRAME still uses a slim frame and headrail, just without drilling into the window. Exact suitability depends on your specific window or door and is confirmed by your surveyor during your free home visit.
Light & Privacy Control
Metal Venetian blinds give you precise, adjustable control over both light and privacy by tilting the slats. Tilting the slats redirects daylight into the room and can reduce glare, while adjusting the angle further gives you a genuine range of privacy levels rather than a simple open/closed choice.
How much privacy a given slat angle provides also depends on the relative light levels inside and outside — for example, a room that's brightly lit at night with the outside dark will always show more from the outside than the same angle during the day.
Metal Venetian blinds are not a blackout product. Even with the slats fully closed, some light will pass between the slats, at the ladder and cord positions, and around the edges of the blind — this is inherent to how the product works, not a fault.
Manual & Electric Operation
Standard Metal Venetian — Manual controls vary by slat size and system. Narrower-slat systems commonly use wand tilt with cord lift, while wider-slat systems may use different cord-control arrangements. The exact control method is confirmed for the selected blind during your home visit. Where a lift cord is used, it is managed with a safety cleat and a cord consolidator that prevents loops from forming, in compliance with UK child safety regulations.
Perfect Fit® Venetian — Operated manually, using a handle in the bottom bar to raise and lower the blind and a wand to control slat tilt.
FITtoFRAME Venetian — A tensioned bottom-up system with a fixed headrail, operated manually unless directly evidenced otherwise for a specific system.
Motorised — Motorisation is available on selected standard Metal Venetian systems only. Depending on the system, this may offer tilt-only or tilt-and-lift operation, with exact compatibility depending on slat size, blind construction, dimensions, motor and supplier system. No motorised option is currently evidenced for the Perfect Fit® or FITtoFRAME fitted systems covered on this page.

Exact safety-device arrangements depend on the system chosen — Perfect Fit®, FITtoFRAME and motorised systems each operate differently, so we don't apply one universal arrangement across every system. Your surveyor will confirm and fit the correct safety device for your chosen blind as part of installation. If a customer declines to allow the fitting of the required device, we are unable to install the blind — this is discussed at survey stage so there are no surprises on installation day.

Do metal Venetian blinds block out light completely?
No — metal Venetian blinds give you precise, adjustable light and privacy control by tilting the slats, but they are not a blackout product. Some light will always pass between the slats, at the ladder and cord positions, and around the edges of the blind, and how much privacy you get also depends on the relative light levels inside and outside. If you want stronger light exclusion, our Total Blackout Blinds may be a better fit.
