Shaped Blinds — A Clear Plan for Unusual Windows
Made-to-measure options for selected shaped and angled windows. The shape determines both the coverage and how the blind can open, so every arrangement starts with a detailed survey.
The Shape Determines the Solution
A non-rectangular window needs more than a standard blind made smaller. Angles, dimensions and fixing positions determine which designs are possible and which parts can move.
Selected manual pleated systems suit shaped upright windows. Suitable gable glazing can use motorised cellular systems, while shaped roof panels need a dedicated conservatory roof system.

Electric Options First, Manual Where Suitable
For compatible gable-end glazing, motorised cellular blinds make high or awkward windows easier to control. We explain the movement and the supplied system’s power arrangement during your home visit.
Selected shaped upright pleated blinds use cord or small plastic-tab controls, depending on the configuration. The tab can be clear, white or frame-coloured. Electric conservatory roof systems have their own power and wiring requirements.
What Opens — and What Remains Covered
Not every shaped blind can uncover the whole window. Some arrangements include fixed sections, while others leave gathered fabric over part of the glazing when open. Larger or complex windows may need a combination of shaped and rectangular blinds.
The available designs cannot always follow the whole outline of the glass. We identify likely gaps and uncovered areas before ordering.
Moving sections
The available movement follows the geometry of the chosen blind. We explain how far it can open.
Fixed sections
Some parts remain covered. A fixed fabric section does not retract with the moving blind.
Several blinds
A larger glazed area may need separate blinds, with space between the sections and room for gathered fabric.
Choose Fabrics for the Exact System
Fabric availability depends on the shape and blind system. Pleated and cellular fabrics have different constructions, and not every fabric can be used on every shaped window.
Selected manual upright shaped pleated configurations offer blackout fabric. This does not eliminate light around the edges or any uncovered areas. Our conservatory roof offering is not available in blackout fabrics.
A Survey That Makes the Arrangement Clear
We measure the glazing, angles, frame and recess, and check handles, vents, fixing positions and access. Your advisor explains the blind layout, controls and expected coverage.
Before you place an order, you should understand which parts move, which stay covered, where the fabric gathers and where light gaps or uncovered glazing will remain.
Your Questions Answered
Can you cover every window shape?
No. Suitability depends on the available designs, dimensions, angles and fixing space. We confirm what is achievable for your glazing at survey.
Will the whole blind open?
Not necessarily. Some configurations have fixed sections or fabric that remains over part of the glazing when the blind is open.
Will I need more than one blind?
Larger or complex windows may need several shaped and rectangular blinds, provided each section suits an available system.
Can shaped blinds be electric?
Selected motorised cellular systems are available for compatible gable glazing. Roof and manual upright shaped systems have different operating arrangements.
Can shaped blinds provide blackout?
Selected upright shaped systems offer blackout fabric, but edge gaps and uncovered sections prevent a promise of total darkness. Our conservatory roof blinds are not available in blackout fabrics.
