One Opening Beneath the Lantern
A roof lantern brings daylight into the room through a raised glazed roof. Its blind fits across the opening beneath the lantern rather than separately to each angled glass panel.
The opening dimensions, available fixing positions and obstructions determine the suitable system and layout. We measure and assess these before confirming the specification.
Motorised Control Within Easy Reach
Our roof lantern blinds are motorised, making overhead shading convenient to adjust from the room below. Remote operation is available, with app, scheduling or smart-home controls on compatible systems.
Battery or mains-powered options depend on the selected system. We plan charging access or the power supply and wiring route at survey, alongside the controls you want to use.
Light, Glare and Everyday Comfort
Light-filtering fabrics soften incoming daylight. Selected blackout cellular fabrics block light through the fabric, but gaps at the perimeter or system components can still admit light. A blackout fabric does not make a lantern installation a total-blackout room.
Cellular fabric adds an insulating layer beneath the glazing. Suitable shading can help manage glare and solar heat, but the result depends on the fabric, glazing, orientation and wider room conditions. We do not promise a fixed temperature reduction or energy saving.
Designed for Overhead Use
A lantern blind needs a purpose-designed overhead system. An ordinary free-hanging blind or frame-fitted side-window blind is not interchangeable with a lantern system.
Conservatory roof blinds serve a different purpose: they fit individual roof panels. We can explain both options if your home combines different types of roof glazing.

We assess the opening dimensions, fixing surfaces, access, nearby vents and obstructions, and the space needed for the system and gathered fabric. We also discuss expected edge light and the available fabric colours.
The quotation sets out the selected blind, controls and power arrangement. Delivery timing is confirmed for that specification before you order.
